UAB�s McMurry Named Conference USA Co-Hitter Of The Week	04/01/2008 - Baseball - AL
UAB center fielder Cody McMurry has been named Conference USA Co-Hitter of the Week after he hit .364 with three home runs and 10 RBI in the Blazers� five games last week. McMurry delivered a three-run home run and a game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth to beat Tulane on Saturday. McMurry shares this week�s award with Houston third baseman Bryan Pounds who hit .476 with two homers. Southern Miss� Barry Bowden was named the league�s pitcher of the week for the third time this season. The three-run homer against Tulane on Saturday was the second of the series for McMurry as he hit a three-run blast in the bottom of the ninth in Friday�s game to make it a one-run contest. The Blazers will now play a home-and-away midweek series with Alabama beginning Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Tuscaloosa before hosting the Crimson Tide at Regions Park at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
